Louis Goguen
1936-2024
Louis Goguen, 88, of Cocagne, passed away peacefully, surrounded by
his family at the Anciens Combatant Residence, Moncton, on Saturday
July 20, 2024. He was married to late Frances Bowlan (1996), and
Gisèle (Goguen) Goguen. Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the
late Peter and the late Odilia (LeBlanc) Goguen.
Louis was a watch maker, mechanic, machinist and an inventor. His passions were politics and watching news. His hobbies were; skating (Bicentennial Club), loved to sing in the Cocagne Choir and the St. Augustine Choir in Moncton, playing his guitar with a glass of Flacatoune and camping, especially going to Florida. He loves his dog Choco. Louis was a veteran of the Canadian Military Service and served in Germany as peace keeper.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Gisèle, his son; Stephen Goguen (Lana) of Bonnyville, AB, his three step-children; Carole Léger of fort McMurray, AB, Christine Elward (Craig) of Moncton, Brian Léger (Emilie) of Cocagne, his five grandchildren; Rebecca, Angelia, Melodie, Ariel and Lucas. He also leaves to mourn two goddaughters; Gisèle Fancy, Caroline Bowlan, and one godson; Michael Bowlan and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one sister; Gerarda.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Cocagne, on Wednesday July 24, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cocagne Church on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
In Louis’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
