John Nowlan
1945-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce that John Nowlan, 78, of
Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche and formerly of Saint-Gregoire,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Manoir on
Monday July 8, 2024. He was married to Anna LeBlanc. Born in
Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Lucas and the late Irène
(LeBlanc) Nowlan.
John was a family-man. He enjoyed many family trips, including hunting trips in Alberta. He especially loved having his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren over for Sunday dinner. He was also the founder, owner/operator of Nowlan’s Roofing in the Bouctouche area.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 58 years; Anna, his eight children; Gina Nowlan (Marc) of Bouctouche, Julie Young (Matt) of Dieppe, J.J. (Angèle) of Saint-André-LeBlanc, Brian (Angela) of Sherwood Park, AB, Dennis (Jocelyne) of Saint-Grégoire, Eric (Sylvie) of Indian Mountain, Randy (Angèle) of Lower Coverdale, Billy of Dieppe, his sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves to mourn his three sisters; Thérèse Cormier (Lionel) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Stella Cormier of Shediac, Bernadette Nowlan (Omer Maillet) of Saint-Norbert, his four brothers; Adolphe (Dorice), Lawrence (Maria), Edouard (Geralda) and Lucas (Maria) of Bouctouche as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by three sisters; Marie-Anne, Sophie, Mélanie and three brothers; Edgar, Joseph and Marcel.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche, on Tuesday July 16, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
In John’s memory, donations may be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
